Journal Entry #8: Blood and Silver

5th of Frostfall, 4E 201

I am bloody tired. What’s worse is that even with my stomach full of wine and bread, I can’t even think about sleep.

I visited Isran a few days ago, just in time to fight off three vampires. Isran and I defeated them, then he sent me to find some new members, specialists who might be able to help us.

After that I went to Markarth to deliver a purchase agreement Bolli in Riften gave me. The moment I walked through the gates, I had to stop a native of the Reach from killing an Imperial woman. It’s been a while since I had to move that fast.

I still don’t know the story behind that. Someone named Eltrys wants me to meet him at the shrine of Talos, but I haven’t yet. I’m not sure I want to get involved in whatever he wants to propose.

I don’t like Markarth. The Silver-Bloods and the Forsworn are fighting over both the city and the hold like selfish brats over a toy, not realizing they are destroying the toy with their fighting.

Molag BalMolag Bal has a shrine in an abandoned house near the marketplace. Namira’s priestess was enjoying a buffet in the Hall of the Dead. I strongly suspect the two daedra lords are attracted to the blood and death, like flies. I’ve gotten caught in both of their games.

The moment I was finished with Molag Bal, I threw his mace down the deepest hole I could find in an empty mine. It was the only way I could tell him to go to hell. Namira is a different story. Her priestess is a siren. The entire time I was talking to her in that crypt I couldn’t think straight. I don’t know what’ll happen next.

Right now though I have a bigger problem. Two days ago, I reported to Commander Maro. He gave me the passphrase to get past their sanctuary door and ordered me to kill everyone in the sanctuary, alone.

There were very few people there, and with Astrid dead they were disorganized. It wasn’t difficult to complete this job.

But Loki wasn't there. I ransacked the place for any sign of where he might have been and found nothing. I have no way of knowing if he was out on a contract. Hell, I don’t even know if he’s alive. If he is alive, he’ll hunt me down, and he won’t give a damn about where I am or who gets in his way. I need to find him first, but I have no idea where to find him!
